Joan holds a degree in Contemporary Dance (Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, 2009). He’s been a dancer for different companies in Spain, such as IT Dansa, Roseland, Fura dels Baus or Au Ments, among others. He is also co-founder, together with his sister, of Tal i Tal Dance Company.
He also has experience in musical theatre, as an actor and singer in productions such as Nina: 20 anys i una nit, El llibre de les bèsties or Adreça desconeguda.
He has choreographed works for opera and musical theatre, such as La del manojo de rosas, Katiuska, Foc i Fum or A Christmas Carol , directed by himself together with Ivan Andrade. He is responsible for the choreographies of The Amateurs’ A Little Prince .
Joan is the artistic director of Pedra Viva , the international festival that takes place in Menorca since 2008.
Joan has taught contemporary dance as a resident and guest teacher in Menorca, Spain, and the UK. He’s been awarded as a dancer in ‘Concurs Coreogràfic de 9 Barris’, and holds the ‘Art Jove’ Award. He was also a finalist of the ‘Escènica Award’.
